What an absolutely wonderful weekend.  I hope that you enjoyed yours as much.  On Saturday I took a 2 hour nap! An amazing feat because the rest of my family was awake.  I went to my bedroom to read and before I knew it...I was asleep and NO ONE came in to wake me up.  It was fabulous. Most of the day Sunday I was downstairs doing laundry.  I didn't really mind it...I watched this 4 hour part one of Jane Eyre.  Embarassing enough, I wasn't familar with the story.  I really do need to upgrade my Netflix membership so that I can get 2 movies at once.  Waiting a few days for the second half of that show is going to be excrutiating! (remember I said that I was going to cancel my membership...so much for that!)

We have finally arrived at the last week of school.  I am so glad.  Three days to go.  Three busy days.  I sewed up a few gardening aprons for the girl's teachers.  We (the parents) are putting together little gardening baskets for them complete with seeds, shovels, gloves, hand lotion, and these aprons.

Aprons hanging1

I didn't have a pattern, but a just a general idea of how I wanted them to look.  How hard can sewing a rectangle be?  I made a sample apron just to make sure that I worked out all the kinks first.  Sewing for other people is always fussy like that.  Then, I cranked out the others assembly line style.  Cut them all out, and made all the little bias trims, then put them each together.  They are made from canvas and cotton prints.  I lined the pockets with muslin just so they would be a similar thickness as the canvas.

I have more sewing to show for...come back tomorrow! I give up on the spacing issue #$%@&**!!

Oh Snap!

Pool1

The pool is ready and sometime over the long winter I forgot to get skinny!  UGGGHH!

Laurels watering can1

At least someone around here looks cute in their bathing suit.  (she played with the hose and her watering can for almost an hour last night- just filling and dumping.)

We've been enjoying some much needed time outside, and thus the lack of posts.  I have been busy sewing and doing some redecorating as well.  Hope to be back soon to show off the finished products!

PS. I HATE THE NEW TYPEPAD...THE SPACING IS ALL SCREWED UP!!

Tag- I'm it!

Double rainbow1

(I took this picture last night out our front windows, it was a spectacular double rainbow out in the wheat fields- we could see the whole arch.)

Mary Beth of Salt and Chocolate tagged me for the "Six Unspectacular Quirks" meme. The rules are

Okay, here are mine:

1.  I have NEVER, not one time, EVER mowed the lawn.  (my brother always did it, and now Carl.)  I wouldn't even know how to turn the thing on.

2.  I can only eat from one group of food on my plate at one time.  For example I wouldn't take a bite of salad and then a bite of rice, and then a bite of meat.  I would instead eat all my salad and then move onto the rice and then onto the meat.  OCD I know.

3.  Yesterday I ate a candy bar.  A Reses Fast Break to be exact.  This is something that I also NEVER do (like once every 3 years).  I am too embarrassed to buy them, like they are contraband or something. Carl happened to bring one home and so I indulged.  It had 450 calories and 22 grams of fat.  I enjoyed all of it.

4.  I hate standing in dirty water.  I would never make it barefoot in a public shower, or standing in line at the water slides.  It totally creeps me out.

5.  I am growing bored with my beige walls and wish my kitchen looked like this. (the second picture w/ the red chairs)  Isn't that cheery?

6.  I have a re-occurring nightmare where all my teeth fall out. One by one I keep loosing them throughout the dream until they are all gone. I am not sure how to analyze that one, but I am sure it must mean something.

Well don't you feel better knowing those 6 useless things about me?  Let's hear yours.  Consider yourself tagged.

ps. Wow! you ladies like to talk laundry.  I loved hearing from all of you.  For those of you who asked, regular white vinegar works best!
